Salisbury Poultry are looking for Despatch Supervisor to join their busy Chicken Factory team. **Duties include**:

- Operate at all times to the highest attainable safety standards. Instill safety conscious attitude and work methods into all your staff. Ensure all area of responsibility is maintained in a safe manner.
- Support and help the Production Manager to achieve the departments objectives.
- Effective absence management
- Positive behavior and can-do approach to be demonstrated
- Promote a good team working environment: e.g. welcoming environment of culture for new starts.
- Help to implement and maintain company standards in terms of service, quality, cost and health and safety.
- Assist in the development and training of new and existing employees.
- Organise the staff for the line, department to meet the daily production plan as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure all raw materials (inputs to production) are available in advance. Inform Production Manager of any shortages.
- Ensure all documentation is correctly and accurately filled in and handed in at the end of production.
- Ingredients and products to be checked to ensure they are of the correct quality and used in the correct rotation.
- To be responsible for daily, accurate stock taking of all products, including crates and pallets
- To ensure the correct booking in and out procedure is adhered to by the team and to follow up on any discrepancies
- To keep the department clean and tidy at all times.
- To contact and follow up any breakdowns with the Production Manager and Engineering dept.
- Maintain and adhere to correct operational procedures and specification throughout the process
- Manage the operative in terms of Hygiene procedures, Housekeeping, morning start-ups, and transfer to other departments.
- Lead by setting a good example to your team.
- Train and maintain an acceptable level of trained personnel in your department to cover all eventualities, record job rotation.
- Assist in the development of employees to their full potential, giving feedback on performance.
- Direct and co-ordinate the team throughout the day. Start-up positioning of staff. Planning and organising breaks, efficiencies, etc.
- Overtime - liaise with Production Manager as to overtime requirements.
- Monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from processes
- Adherence to all company policies including H&S policy and Equal Opportunities.
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Ensuring all product is correctly stacked and safely wrapped and stored
- Checking and recording accurate product temperatures
- Using the Marel system to scan product in to stock and out for despatch
- Picking of customer orders
- Any Other Duties, which may be required by the Manager
- Liaising with customer on lorry arrival times
- Schedule planning
- Stock control & FIFO
- Directing traffic flow on site

**Shift Pattern**:

- 5 days per week
- Hours range from 5am - 2pm
