Introduction
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, join the multidisciplinary team at Thornford Park in Thatcham where you will help people develop new skills and build a brighter future.
You will be working at Thornford Park, a 130 bedded independent hospital that supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services, there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for the delivery of occupational therapy services across the ward and help people develop new skills and build a brighter future.
With experience from the NHS or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience. You will be involved in completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.
With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.
Other responsibilities:
Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans
Maintain accurate service users' records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries following hospital and professional standards
Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid service user mental health recovery
Provide a professional contribution to, and liaison with clinical teams, associated disciplines and external agencies
To be successful in this role:
Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
HCPC Registration
Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 & CPA
Experience of working in a similar setting
