_**Accounts Payable Assistant**_
- **up to £35k**_
- **Hybrid working**_

I am recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a client of mine for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. You will be assisting the Financial Accountant and reporting into the Financial Controller. This role requires someone who is usedto working in a fast paced environment and with excellent and clear communication skills. You will need to be immediately available or on a max notice period of 2 weeks.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all purchase orders are raised in a timely manner
- Record and process all supplier invoices on a timely basis to ensure period end closure
- Assist with the reconciliation for all bank accounts
- Age creditors maintenance including pro-actively chasing invoices
- Query resolution
- Supplier statement reconciliation
- Checking and matching receipts with expenses and ensure all employee claims are checked against policy.
- Obtain monthly credit card receipts, create, and post the credit card transaction journal
- Assist with VAT reconciliations and quarterly returns
- Assist with month end closing process, including accounting for provisions, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Ad-hoc assistance with projects as and when required

**Compliance**:

- Comply with the Bank's Conduct rules, as prescribed by the PRA and FCA
- Maintain 'Fit & Proper' status required to fulfil role as a Senior Manager/Certification employee (if relevant)
- Comply with the Bank's policies and procedures as laid out in the Staff Handbook, the intranet and other sources
- Manage all personal data and sensitive personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation and any associated Bank policies and procedures

**Qualifications**:

- Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) desirable
Technical Skills
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable environment.
- Highly numerate with high degree of accuracy.
- Well organised with the ability to work to set deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
