Family Services Coordinator

**Job Overview**
To plan and develop, in accordance with the charity’s aims and within agreed budgets, effective support services in the area of benefit in line with national and local agendas, which promotes the economic, educational, health and social wellbeing of children and young people with disabilities and their families.
To provide effective professional support to promote the services of the charity, including direct contact with our family members, outside agencies, and the public.
To promote Marches Family Network by providing professional, independent advice to a range of organisations, groups and individuals.
**Duties**:
- To be the first point of contact for any family wishing to register their child with Marches Family Network.
- To work on behalf of and with families, promoting the engagement and empowerment of families and their children to lead fulfilling lives.
- To implement and develop services in response to feedback and changing needs, in conjunction with the manager, colleagues, trustee board and statutory guidelines.
- To take act as one of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads for the charity.
**Main Job Activities**
- To ensure a range of, and access to, information appropriate to the needs of families and their children is available.
- To provide support and advice on an individual basis to families registered with the Charity when requested.
- To attend sessions on a regular basis in order to be better able to support the families.
- To support/represent families and their children as required at any meeting connected with supporting the child.
- To organise and facilitate regular consultation activities, using a variety of methods, including use of family/children forums for the review and development of services.
- To organise family events and activities according to funding available.
- To assist in securing sources of available funding to promote agreed programmes of activity.
- To represent the charity and facilitate presentations, workshops, seminars and parent drop-ins in conjunction with colleagues.
- To make sure the children and young people who are involved in activities run by the charity and their parents/carers know who they can talk to if they have a welfare concern and
understand what action the charity will take in response.
- To cover for Designated Safeguarding Lead when they are unavailable.
- To be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new
developments in this area.
- To attend regular training in issues relevant to safeguarding and child protection.
- To promote the work of the Charity within area of responsibility.
- To work within agreed financial budgets.
- To contribute to the work of the Charity by regular attendance at and contribution to team meetings / development days.
- To carry out any other duties as may be required from time to time under the direction of the Manager.
**Qualifications**
Essential
- Maths and English pass at GCSE or equivalent.
- Experience of working in social, health or community-based organisations with reference to children with disabilities
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £32,667.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
