A part of this role will focus on promoting patient recruitment into ‘Count me in project’. This novel approach was launched in August 2021 after studies showed that asking clinical staff to collect research contact consent was resulting in a low uptake from patients, and that both staff and patients favoured an approach that allowed all patients to be contacted about relevant research unless they have opted out. Early signs are that ‘Count me in ’ is having a very positive impact on the way research participants are recruited at OHFT.
Within the role you will be responsible for the below, please review the attached job description and person specification for a full overview of the role responsibilities.
Provide ongoing information, education, and support to patients (and their carers, where applicable) regarding recruitment into research studies across OHFT.
Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff within the department, as well as across other departments, the trust, and external companies such as Clinical Research Organisations and pharmaceutical companies.
Following training and competency assessment - obtain informed consent from participants to research studies, as necessary.
Provide oversight and guidance to the R&D team regarding recruitment and manage any organisational issues that may arise.
