As an Optimisation Manager, we are offering a salary between £42,076- £56,926.
This role is Monday-Friday.
You will be responsible for the delivery of Water Quality improvements, Leakage, low pressure and Supply Interruptions through the provision of water supply expertise. To act as a focal point for the field investigation of more complex operational problemsand identification of the need for appropriate maintenance and improvement work to ensure the network and the whole hydraulic system performs efficiently and effectively.
You will be required to provide input into scoping of Engineering projects. The role will also provide primary support for event stakeholder management.
**What you will be doing**:
- Lead a team of Engineers and Analysts to provide a consistent approach to system optimisation (principle and transfer) across the region.
- Developing tactical solutions and contingency plans to reduce risk and incident avoidance across the water system, driving operational excellence in Water Quality and Customer
- Delivering leakage reduction, via day-to-day management of detection strategy and via scoping technical solutions to achieve a calmer operation.
- DG2/Supply Interruptions - Maintain targets for areas and monitor current position against targets. Identify problems and potential solutions through liaison with Capital Delivery if required. Lead in the resolution of minor pressure problems and contributetowards OFWAT audit requirements.
- Identifying water supply/demand risks within the system or region, and leading the necessary investigations and resolution actions, working closely with other delivery stakeholders, to ensure the risk is mitigated and customers’ supplies secured.
- Support the Risk Assessment process for all Network activity (Permits/Risk Assessment process), including developments and growth.
- Work closely with Regional Operations teams in Water Networks, Water Production, System Operations team, Developer Services, Asset Management, Capital Delivery, Innovation and various other business units within the business to ensure consistency in approachfrom planning to delivery of the system optimisation strategy.
- Support the Event Management process for the company, by taking part in the Managers’ Out of Hours standby roster.
**What you should bring to the role**:
- Be ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent in a technical discipline
- Have Leadership or Project Management qualification is not essential, but preferable
- Have the ability and experience to lead technical teams and develop strategies and processes, and have good analytical, problem-solving, reasoning and negotiating skills
- Be comfortable communicating at all levels and will have sound stakeholder management skills
- Have extensive water industry experience preferably in Clean Water Supply operations and a proven understanding of the regulatory and legislative aspects of the water industry
- Have Knowledge of asset management and capital delivery is highly desirable
- Ideally, you will have a full clean driving license and your own car, as this role will involve travel across the region
