**Job Title**: Nursery Practitioner

**Salary**: Up to £24,000 per year

**Job type**:Permanent, Full time.

**The Role**:
Little Bear's in Elephant Central is our new, purpose built, nursery school. The 71-place setting offers our family-feel childcare to children aged between 3-months and 5-years-old. The setting features a new Sensory Room appropriate for all age-groups.The multi-sensory approach will benefit all our Bear Cubs, with a great approach to stimulating child development and offering a different way to encourage children to express themselves, especially those that are non-verbal learners. Little Bear's in ElephantCentral was award a Millie's Mark in 2021, as a mark of their commitment to going 'above and beyond' for child safety.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- To work as a member of the nursery team, in a stimulating and nurturing environment. Where the highest standards of care are provided.
- To be able to use your own initiative to meet individual children's needs.
- Ensure all agreed Company Policies and Procedures are always adhered to within then nursery.
- Take responsibility for the safety, security, and well-being of all children within the base room.

**Qualifications and Desirable Skills**:

- NVQ Level 2 or above, in relevant childcare course.
- Prepared to undertake professional development to continuously improve practice.
- Previous Nursery experience is desirable.
- Experience working with 3-months to 5-years-old children is desirable.
- Good communication skills.
- Both self-motivated and a team player.
- Excellent time keeping skills.

**Operational Duties include**:

- To be a reliable and supportive member of the team.
- To observe each child's progress and to report, both verbally and through written observations, including termly reports, upon your Key Children's' achievements highlighting progression and continuity.
- To foster good working relationships with parents/guardians, staff, and outside agencies.
- Attend parents' meetings; be involved in fundraising events and promotion of the nursery as required.
- Assist with the preparation of the nursery for Ofsted and regular mock-Ofsted inspections; and, to action any recommendations made by an Inspector, in consultation with colleagues.
- In consultation with your Nursery Manager and your Room Leader, formulate, operate, and evaluate an annual programme of activities implementing EYFS.
