**JOB PURPOSE**:
Under the direction of the Head of Operational Support - Corporate Affairs, the post-holder will ensure the Trust holds reliable and up-to-date data covering all information assets held by the organisation. This role is vital in ensuring that the Trust is compliantwith Local/National policy and elements of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit that Information Governance manages.
A robust, and complete, IAR will assist in resolving issues identified from internal and external compliance exercises, making sure that the Trust's information assets comply with best practice for the management of data protection, health records, cyber risks,and information security standards.
**The responsibilities will include the following**:

- Create an action plan for the identification of all information assets held by the organisation, and monitor and report on compliance with the plan.
- Using software, create a record of all information assets which meets national standards, including those stipulated by the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
- Oversee training and guidance for Information Asset Owners and Administrators, and monitor compliance with training.
- Produce an Information Asset policy and procedure for the organisation.
- Liaise with IT Services, as a key stakeholder, on the Configuration Management Database to ensure the priorities of both databases are consistent.
- Line management of Information Asset Register Manager

- Previous experience of creating and managing Information Asset Registers in a large organisation. (E)

- Experience of working with Information Asset Register software (E)
- Experience of information risk management techniques (E)
