Role Summary

Here at Seashell, we provide care and education for children and young people with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments and communication disorders and autism.

We are recruiting a Finance Officer to join our small, fast paced Accounts team to manage our Purchase Ledger and produce accurate and timely financial information to support the work of budget holders across our Charity.Duties will include:

- posting invoices to the purchase ledger, using the purchase order processing system which is linked to Sage
- reconciling the purchase order processing each month
- checking the purchase ledger balances to supplier statements at each month end
- creating the suppliers’ BACS payment list for approval 3 times a month and making the BACS payments once approved

**Requirements**:

- GCSE English and Maths grade A-C/4 or above, or equivalent level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy is essential
- Previous purchase ledger experience working in a finance office dealing with multiple cost centres
- Experience with computerised accounting systems and electronic purchase order systems
- Strong MS Excel skills, knowledge of Sage advantageous
- Ability to prioritise and to work to tight schedules in often pressurised situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organisation and co-ordination skills
