At **British Gypsum** we are looking for **a Mechanical Crafts Person** to work in our **Technical Production Engineering team,**helping to deliver professional maintenance in order to maximize plant efficiency by actively utilizing continuous improvement techniques and delivery of the highest standards

The Mechanical Crafts Person will be a part of a long serving, highly skilled and technical minded team based out of Loughborough. The Mechanical Crafts Person will work closely with the days Crafts team, Shift team, Performance engineering team, Plant Managementand on occasions the Project Engineering team. British Gypsum is one of 30+ Saint-Gobain brand's, Much of Britain has been built with British gypsum. Gypsum is the vital raw-material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled and made in Britain. In fact, as custodiansof British gypsum reserves, we've been mining it for more than 150 years.

**What we're looking for**:

- Experience in continuous improvements in a manufacturing / production environment
- Strong exposure to perform PPM, reactive maintenance but most importantly strong plant reliability skills in a fast paced manufacturing facility
- Problem solver, technical minded with a Mechanical time served apprenticeship
- Strong attention to detail. of safely maintaining medium to heavy process plant with basic skills in machining, welding, pneumatic s and hydraulics (mechanical).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous priorities

**What you will be doing**:

- Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, overall plant and people safety,
- Liaising with Plant Operators, working with the performance team, conducting plant walk downs checking for reliability issues,
- Responsible for keeping the production facility running on 24/7, this is a key critical maintenance role, ensuring cost and breakdowns are kept to a minimum,
- Actively investigates reported faults ensuring root cause is determined and actions put in place, communicating findings to appropriate people
- Manage task and schedules to the highest levels and ensure communicating professionally to Stakeholders across the facility.
