**Location**:Whilst your base office will be in Bristol, Aztec West, we’ll support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment), whilst coming together on site to offer face to face support and collaboration 3 times a week.

**Join EDF as a Company Secretarial Assistant where you will be contributing to the success of one of our largest Nuclear New Build projects, Hinkley Point C (HPC) and gaining excellent exposure.**

You will be performing a wide range of Company Secretarial and Governance services for EDF Energy’s Nuclear New Build group of joint venture companies, ensuring compliance with Shareholders’ Agreements, relevant statutory provisions, and governance best practice.

The HPC & Nuclear Development Legal team sits within EDF Energy’s nuclear new build projects and is part of EDF Energy’s wider Governance & Legal Affairs function. The team is responsible for proper governance of the joint venture nuclear new build projects, and work closely with EDF Energy’s Company Secretariat team.

The role is within the HPC & Nuclear Development Legal team but will also require regular liaison with EDF Energy’s Company Secretariat team, who maintain company information, records, and statutory registers, administration of Board meetings, preparation of statutory returns and forms.

**The opportunity**

You will be providing close professional support to the General Counsel/Company Secretary, the Head of Legal - Corporate & Regulatory, and the wider Company Secretary Team.

You will also be responsible for providing pro-active support to the administration of several joint-venture Boards, including coordination of the annual Board meeting schedule, preparation of agendas, quality review of draft papers prior to executive review, creation of Board packs, attendance at meetings, preparation of minutes of meeting, coordinating efficient interaction with relevant stakeholders and parent company Boards, and maintenance of high-quality internal records of Board decisions.

To assist in the preparation and coordination of any Director appointment or resignation, ensuring that all internal governance approvals are satisfied. Develop relationships with business partners and the executive team and provide advice and support on company secretarial matters and procedure.

Assist in the drafting of resolutions and documentation for routine transactions such as contract approvals, budget approvals and cash calls. Assist in the preparation and coordination of risk registers and annual internal control self-assessments.

**What we’re looking for**

To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter, and committed team player, with a strong delivery focus. You will be highly organised and pride yourself on accuracy and timeliness. You are adaptable to new situations/tasks and can quickly learn new information, as well as having the ability to prioritise conflicting activities and work under pressure. You will ideally have experience in a Company Secretarial environment, but this is not essential.

You have demonstrable experience of building and maintaining effective relationships and communicating with stakeholders at all levels in a confident manner. You act with integrity and discretion, always maintaining confidentiality. You possess strong problem-solving skills and are able to display objectivity even in difficult situations. Committed to continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge.

Proficient IT skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience conducting searches and filing documents with Companies House is preferable.
