What we're looking for...

You will be supported to help children and families to achieve their potential, ensure their voices are heard and that they are safe and protected. As part of the Early Help service, you will be given responsibility right from the start, alongside which you will be given the support to utilise your skills and experiences to ensure families and young people receive the best possible support.

You will ensure that consistent, high-quality advice and support regarding the education welfare of children and their families is available to Early Help colleagues, Children’s Social Care and other BFC colleagues. You will also consistently promote the benefits of good attendance and set high expectations for schools to ensure that children and young people, particularly the most vulnerable reach their full potential.

What it's like working in our team...

You will be part of the council’s Early Help service with experience working with families, young people and children with a range of needs. As a team member you will contribute to our ‘can do’ approach by being flexible and responsive to the unique needs of each family, child, and young person you are supporting. You will need to combine the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting team colleagues and representing the service where this is required.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties and responsibilities...
- To effectively lead an agreed area, associated staff, and their performance under the direction of the Specialist Programme Manager
- To collate, analyse and provide relevant data for the head of service, department management team and director related to school attendance
- To provide information and guidance to ensure that all Bracknell Forest schools are confident and competent regarding their duties for school attendance and that they have robust policies and procedures in place for managing attendance matters
- Provide regular training to schools, school governors, local authority staff and partners and on the statutory duties regarding school attendance
- To hold a caseload of schools
