Job Purpose: To lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity. To enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.

To create a stimulating and varied programme of activities and social events inside and outside the home

Responsible to: Home Manager and Care officer

Responsible for: Key Tasks:

- To work with each resident to understand their likes, dislikes, abilities and needs
- TO recruit volunteers to provide a variety of desired, appropriate social activities
- To ensure the Individual Activity plan for each resident is kept up to date
- To formulate and maintain a stimulating programme of activities for all residents
- Produce and publish a monthly programme of events
- Prepare a newsletter for residents and families as required
- Help and encourage residents to use social media
- Take pictures of events and upload to our facebook page
- To liaise with staff and relatives regarding care and specific activities that may be beneficial
- Ensure the activity programme covers seven days
- Ensure birthdays and special events are celebrated of residents who wish to do so
- Ensure gifts are bought in a timeously manner
- Participate in teamwork
- Assist residents with personal needs in an emergency situation
- Promote reminiscence support, mobility and general support
- Ensure all activities are documented
- Attend regular training and staff meetings as required
- Obtain feedback and log appropriately - informing Home Manager
- Undertake other duties, within your areas of competence, as required by the manager
- To be familiar with Care home Policies and Procedures

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 - 22 per week

**Salary**: £10.29 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
