Debt Recovery Paralegal/solicitor

We are seeking an experienced ambitious Debt Recovery Solicitor or Paralegal reporting to the Company Directors, with demonstrable experience in debt recovery with desirable experience in Financial Regulation and dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a clear knowledge of, and at least two years’ experience in, debt recovery claim handling and a proven track record of running and successfully litigating those cases towards trial.

**ROLE**
- Leading your own case-load of litigated matters.
- Acting for the firm’s clients at all stages of the debt recovery process, from sending letters of claim, issuing court proceedings, requesting judgement, and taking enforcement action.
- Working alongside colleagues across other departments in the business to maximise revenues generated from successful recoveries.
- Dealing with complaints lodged from consumers against the company, including acknowledging complaints, investigating the merits of the complaint and drafting Final Responses with the outcome of the investigation of each complaint.
- Responding to GDPR/DSAR requests for files from consumers.

**SKILLS**
- Be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive or paralegal with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE/demonstrable experience in a debt recovery role in a legal firm.
- Have experience in managing your own significant case-load of debt recovery matters.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- Self-motivated and thrives in a busy working environment.
- Desirable if you have knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority and dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service.
