Transport Planner

We are searching for a Transport Planner to work alongside our dedicated team in our Parcelhub depot in Nottingham.

The role is to provide a single point of contact for all transport-related issues for both on and off site.

You will be maintaining the day-to-day schedules ensuring these collections meet their time slots and are proving the most reliable and cost-effective method of getting our customers parcels to the carriers.

To excel in this Transport Planner role, you will need to be forward thinking and be tenacious in your approach to both internal and external customers especially on the occasions things go wrong.

Your core responsibilities as a Transport Planner include, but are not limited to:

- Co-ordinating all on and off-site collections between ops/sales/carrier and the customer
- Keeping accurate records of costs, trailer fills, and schedules
- Being proactive to find the best solution for a given customer
- Working with the ops and sales teams to plan for peak periods
- Debriefing the Nottingham distribution team
- Arranging new collections and injection slots for new and existing customers
- Managing changes to schedules including customer comms
- Managing late and failed customer collections by carriers
- Providing quotes for collection cost to sales team
- Answering incoming enquiries from internal and external customers relating to transport
- Developing and providing daily weekly and monthly reports

**Essential Skills**
- Planning, prioritising, and organisational skills and accuracy when maintaining records.
- To be flexible with hours of work as evening and weekend work may be required in line with business requirements.
- IT Literate, intermediate MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills - Able to analyse data, spot trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to management
- The ability to generate reports.
- Previous experience in the transport planning industry
