Logistics Support Network are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for a busy operation in Nottingham, NG4. This role is on a permanent basis, working for a company who are a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, employing over 1,200 people at locations across the UK.

The main roles of Transport Planner will include:

- Ensure route efficiency of roll-on-off and skip vehicles by ensuring maximum productivity of drivers in order to deliver the highest level of customer service.
- Promoting Health & Safety compliance and best practice to your health and safety and that of others
- Reporting of safety concerns, hazard observation, accidents in a timely manner.
- Ensure suitable driver availability for the operation, with flexing to ensure volume demands are met
- Planning drivers effectively to cover demand
- Completion of administrative tasks as necessary (timesheets, rotas, KPI’s)
- Liaising with various stakeholders, including customers, senior management, fleet management
- Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation.
- Contribute towards cost control (efficiency, reducing operating costs)
- Monitoring training/performance needs (with Service Delivery Manager)
- Ensuring core metrics are met
- Maintain a harmonised people and customer focused team working environment always seeking opportunities to improve our stakeholder’s experience.
- Maintain and expand an excellent proactive relationship with existing customers and suppliers.

- Educated to GCSE level
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous planning experience would be advantageous
- Problem solving skills
- Full driving licence is required, as some travelling between the Leicester and Nottingham site is required

This role is working Monday to Friday, either 0600-1600 OR 0800-1800 as necessary. Saturday is also on a rota basis.
