Role Purpose

To assist the Application Support Manager ensuring a high standard of service is provided to Broadstone. The work of the team covers a mixture of data migrations, automation and general software support for defined benefit, defined contribution, CARE based schemes, flex benefits and employee benefits

The role reports to the Application Support Manager.

Key Accountabilities

First line responsibility for all people management within the team including training, personal development and performance reviews.

Assist in monitoring internal team procedures and systems at all times and initiate changes as required and as agreed with the Application Support Manager and Pensions Director.

Assist in planning for and testing system upgrades

Assist in the successful implementation of legislative changes

Assist with creating and maintaining plans for team project work

Conduct peer review for completed project work, where required

Assist in the training of new team members

Be responsible for planning and managing personal workloads

Undertake scheme migrations, automation routines, report writing and support work where required

Adhere to IT Policy

Technical Knowledge and Professional Qualifications

Key Skills

Organised approach to project work

Highly computer literate

Extremely high level of competence using Excel

Highly numerate with exceptional analytical skills.

A sound pensions technical knowledge preferred

Experience with all scheme types (DC, DB and CARE, flex benefits and employee benefits)

Attention to detail & commitment to providing a quality service

The ability to work independently & as part of a team

The ability and willingness to work within a project environment, often to strict deadlines

Problem solving skills & initiative.

The ability to communicate effectively both verbally & in writing Recommended

Relevant professional qualifications (QPA, APMI or similar)

Experience of pension administration systems and / or flexible benefit / employee benefit back office systems.

Required

Educated to A level standard or equivalent

A minimum of 2 years’ experience carrying out a similar role

Experience of project management methodology.

Experience of programming and content management languages such as HTML, SQL,.net, VBA, C# etc.
