Dungeness ‘A’ Reactor Site are looking for a dynamic and driven individual as team leader within our Ponds Programme Team. The individual will be responsible for managing the front-end field team who deliver the hands-on work within the various facilities being decommissioned.

This is a challenging role managing a team who work daily in challenging radiological environment.

The individual needs to be driven have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills to motivate the team along with the ability to problem solve and manage all the team’s competence records. You will be responsible for working with the project managers and ensuring work is driven in line with schedules and potential risks mitigated

**Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- As an effective Team Leader, the post holder will be responsible for People Management, Performance Management, Control and Supervision, Loss Control, Communications, Resource Management and Management of Systems and Processes.
- The team leader will also be required to manage the team’s contingency arrangements, training and carry out demonstrations of this throughout the year.
- Assigns tasks to the team members ensuring they are Suitably Qualified and Experienced to carry out such tasks.
- Provides proper task instructions when setting people to work for all new tasks.
- Monitors compliance with procedures, by control and supervision of staff and activities.
- Responsible for team/individual development plans and ensuring training is carried out.
- Ensures all team members complete the training identified on their Training Profiles so that they are ‘Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons’ within agreed timescales.
- Prepares and implements short term plans to meet operational and business requirements.
- Communicates with customers, suppliers and other Team Leaders who are responsible for part of the work programme.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to drive work in line with the schedule and gives feedback on progress.
- Is aware of customer needs and standards required.
- Maintains the standards required in personal, industrial, radiological and nuclear safety procedures by ensuring compliance with Site and Section Rules.
- The post holder may be required to undertake delegated responsibility within the requirements of Core Competence under S-157 as specified on the Site Compliance Matrix.
- Complies with the Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality on Site.
- Actively supports and encourages the use of Conduct of Operations / Maintenance & Human Performance Error Prevention Tools
- As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience, and competence.
- Contributes to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
- The post holder may be required to fulfil a role in the Site Emergency Scheme.
- Become and Appointed Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (ASQEP) under Site Licence Condition 26 & 28 if required.

**Qualifications**:
Appropriate technical qualifications e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ level 3 (NQF Level 3) or equivalent. - Essential

Supervisory Management qualification ILM Level 3 or equivalent - Desirable

Experience of working on major projects within a highly regulated industry - Essential

Membership of a relevant Engineering or Project Institution - Desirable

Working knowledge of CDM Regulations - Desirable

Project delivery experience - Desirable

Knowledge of relevant industrial, radiological and safety standards and procedures - Essential

People Management experience in a technical discipline - Desirable
