An opportunity has arisen in the South Manchester IAPT Service for two Mental Health Practitioners to join the team.

The role will be to manage a defined caseload in the Psychological Therapies Service. The post holder will offer brief interventions for clients that are presenting with psychological and/or social issues that are preventing them from accessing an IAPT intervention. These may include clinical issues e.g. issues with motivation, requiring psychoeducation or social issues such as housing, benefits/debt, drugs/alcohol problems.

The role will involve some direct clinical work with the service user or sign posting to other local services. The post holder will be required to work in a flexible way with a combination of in service and remote working from home.

The post holder will also have a supervisory and mentorship role in relation to junior colleagues and Student’s on placement.

The post holder is required to assume a high level of autonomy but will be supported by their line manager with regular caseload supervision.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible, reflective person to join the team. We want people who work well within a team, who share the values embedded within the NHS constitution, and are confident in their ability to contribute to the demonstrated effectiveness and acceptability of our service.

If this sounds like you, then you will have the opportunity to be employed within South Manchester Psychological Therapy team; part of the Primary Care Psychological Therapy Division within GMMH NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will join an experienced group of staff and benefit from close support of newly established Clinical Leads and an expanded management team. There are excellent opportunities for shared learning, reflective practice and continuing professional development.

We are committed to creating a culture which promotes staff wellbeing. We support flexible working arrangements.
