Senior Technical Architect

Are you a talented Senior Technical Architect looking for a new challenge?

Our expert team who look after our Government clients are currently on the look out for a Senior Technical Architect. In this role you will act as the lead for any technical issues, and will draw on the huge wealth of knowledge within Sopra Steria to address.
**What you'll be doing**:

- Define scope and deliverable for assignment with a 'client’ (may be internal or external) for the design of systems architectures to integrate business and IT requirements
- Deliver assignment in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures
- Ensure effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment (may include management of subcontractors and partners)
- Develop and exploit personal network of contacts within Sopra Steria to ensure high levels of chargeable personal utilisation
- Track market trends and competitor activities in 'expert’ area and ensure this data is utilised for the ongoing service development
- Share personal knowledge of 'expert’ area through coaching and mentoring, running workshops, establishing 'special interest groups’

**What you'll bring**:

- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs
- Working as part of an agile team through one or all of the discovery, alpha, beta and live states
- Experience designing solution and leading digital delivery teams to using Agile and DevOps methodologies to ensure automation and delivery pipelines flowing from development, testing, infrastructure as code to automated deployment.
- Detailed design and hands-on experience of containerisation environments
- Red Hat OpenShift
- Java 8, Spring Framework or Spring Boot, Angular, Apache Camel, Docker or CNCF container tools
- Microservices, enterprise integration patterns and experience of working in public cloud environments
- Experience of Jenkins, CI/CD tooling and DevOps
- Working with Git based distributed version control systems (DVCS)

**It would be great if you had**:

- Cloud native delivery skills following open standards in Containers, As a Service, AWS, Microservice, Serverless Functions and data insight solutions
- Java and Open Source solutions, with knowledge of wider frameworks packages in niche areas such as content management and document management systems
- Knowledge of emerging concepts and technologies; Decentralised Identity, Distributed Ledger Technology / Blockchain, Biometrics, Cryptography etc.
- Knowledge of existing and emerging identity standards.
