Head of Project Management:
The role of Head of Project Management is pivotal in shaping the direction and efficiency of the

Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring successful project delivery aligned with

strategic business goals. This position involves leading the PMO team, establishing robust

methodologies, managing a project portfolio, and continuously improving project management

practices.

This role demands a seasoned professional capable of strategic oversight, strong leadership,

and a deep understanding of project management principles to drive the organisation's project

management function toward excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- 1. Strategic Leadership:

- Provide strategic direction for the PMO team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project management framework.
- Set strategic objectives for project management efficiency and productivity.

2. Methodology and Governance:

- Establish and enforce project management methodologies and standards.
- Implement governance practices for risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder

communication.

3. Project Portfolio Management:

- Oversee the project portfolio, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Prioritize projects based on business needs and resource availability.
- Monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement.

4. Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives and

department heads.
- Communicate project progress and proactively address concerns.

5. Continuous Improvement:

- Lead initiatives to optimize project delivery processes and tools.
- Champion process improvements and train teams on new processes.

6. PMO Operations:

- Manage daily operations, including resource allocation, budgeting, and reporting.
- Maintain project management documentation and templates.

7. Risk and Compliance:

- Ensure health and safety compliance and manage project-related risks.
- Develop project plans for complex projects, adhering to timelines and budgets.

8. Team Leadership:

- Oversee a team of project managers, providing support and escalation as needed. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications
- 1. Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years in project management, with a proven track record in leading

complex projects in a mid-to-large scale IT Services organisation
- Experience in ERP/EPM systems and managing project teams across multiple sites

(preferred).
- Strong background in both traditional and agile project management methodologies.
- Commercial experience, including Profit and Loss responsibility for an operational

division.

2. Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).

- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to optimising project management practices

and driving efficiency.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Purpose and Key Duties:

- Purpose: To oversee resource planning, provide support for project managers, and maintain

oversight of live projects. Report on performance to senior stakeholders.
- Key Duties:

- Strategically lead the project management function
- Develop effective pre-site setup procedures and project programs.
- Lead delivery management and resolve project-related issues.
- Foster a collaborative and improvement-driven team culture.
- Collaborate with other departments to align project objectives

Pay: £85,000.00-£90,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- IT project management: 10 years (preferred)
- ERP/EPM systems: 10 years (preferred)
- traditional and agile methodologies: 10 years (preferred)
