**Post**Communications Officer
**Location**The charity offers a very flexible approach to working; this role can be office based or can be undertaken on a home-based basis, with around four days per year in the office
**Working Hours**Full time role with flexible working fully available (you can be based anywhere in the UK)
**Salary**£24,000
Working closely with colleagues in the Communications Team you will work across the breadth of communications including media and content, working to boost the charity profile and reach key audiences. You'll be skilled at copy writing and creating contentfor different audiences using traditional media, social media, and the web. You'll have a keen news sense, perhaps gained in a press office or newsroom, as well as excellent writing and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Core elements of this role will include:
- Work closely with the Head of Communications to deliver communications strategy
- Ensure the delivery of consistent, effective, and positive messages to promote the charity across a variety of platforms
- Help turn complex information into simple, compelling narratives
- Build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders
- Help manage relationships with broadcast, print and digital journalists
- Spot and cultivate opportunities for positive media coverage and engaging content across channels
- Continually improve the effectiveness of the organisation's communications work, paying attention to measurement, evaluation, and learning
- Work on the communications aspects and delivery of the organisation's annual awareness day, National Numeracy Day, and other campaigns throughout the year
- Help deliver content, celebrity activity, case studies and media for campaigns and other content throughout the year
