Wehave an exciting opportunityavailable for a **Training and Competencies Manager**to join our team. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive starting salary **£46,725.00 per annum dependent on experience.**
The **Training and Competencies Manager** is a post within the Safety, Wellbeing & Compliance team at the Crick Institute. The service provides advice and oversight to the Crick Institute in areas such as health and safety, wellbeing, occupationalhealth, environmental management and compliance so as to ensure the Institute remains legally compliant and meets its statutory and policy objectives. The team reports via the Director to General Counsel of the Crick Institute.

**Responsibilities of ourTraining and Competencies Manager**:

- Develop, implement and review an extensive skills competency matrix for the Crick within areas such as (but not limited to): Health and Safety, Wellbeing, Compliance and Environmental Management
- Regularly undertake training needs and competency needs analyses.
- In conjunction with the Audit and Systems Manager, design and deliver a Crick-wide safety and compliance training programme for a wide range of stakeholders to support the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Service Team members to develop in-house skills in the delivery of training programmes, i.e., ‘Train the trainer’.
- Monitor training progress against competency needs and regularly review the competency matrix.
- Work closely with the Crick’s Learning & Development team to develop a safety and compliance related leadership programme, alongside programmes for other groups (e.g., Laboratory Research Scientists).
- Horizon scanning and forward planning to ensure that training is accurate, relevant and appropriate in accordance with regulations, licensing and policy.
- Positively represent the Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance vision and cultural change at the Crick.

**Skills and experience we are looking for in ourTraining and Competencies Manager**:

- Current and relevant knowledge of ISO standards.
- Extensive experience of successfully designing, delivering and monitoring training programmes.
- Able to analyse and interpret metrics and data for the purpose of reporting and to inform future training requirements.
- Enthusiastic and competent communicator with experience of delivering agile training to a wider audience.
- Experience of developing in-house and online training.
- Demonstrable experience of drafting reports and presentation materials for varied purpose and readership.
- Teamwork and collaboration, contributing to the wider Crick mission and values.
- Skilled in influencing and negotiating.
