**Senior HR Officer.**
We are working alongside a prestige education college who are seeking a Senior HR Officer to join them on a temporary basis for 6 months.
Responsibility for overseeing the provision of an effective HR service and for contributing to the wider management of the department through the development and implementation of departmental HR strategy and procedures. Reports to the HR Manager. Staff withinthe unit are directly employed by different employers so you will need to develop an understanding of different sets of policies and procedures in this role
**Responsibilities/duties.**
- Manage and develop a member of the HR team (Senior HR Assistant) to play your parts in providing a full, efficient, effective and professional HR service to the department, ensuring compliance with statutory and legislation
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of employment such as recruitment, absence and stress management, performance management, maternity, and paternity leave, and disciplinary and grievance etc.
- Support managers in managing change within the department, drafting new procedures, and handling individual employee relations cases, ensuring compliance is up to date with central HR.
**Strategic development.**
- Monitor legislative and policy developments and make written recommendations which inform the strategic planning of the Senior Management Group based on analysis of internal HR data
- Develop and deliver the departmental HR strategy and associated procedures ensuring that they align with University policy e.g. performance development reviews, induction, career development
- Communicate key HR policy changes to the department and update staff on new regulations within the University, providing briefing sessions for staff as required
- Work with the Training Officer to coordinate probation and Personal Development Reviews.
- Run and review the casual and main payroll reports, ensuring all recent payroll changes are accurately reflected in the pay run. Follow up any inaccuracies.
- Support departments initiatives, projects, and priorities e.g., immigration audits and compliance checking, manage HR projects as they arise, and implement changes arising from revised HR policy.
- Attend Divisional working groups or committees to build relationships and share best practice
- Attend appropriate training on employment law, HR policies and procedures, and their effective implementation at departmental level
**Location**: Oxford
**Pay Rate**: £18.94 - £19.50 p/h (Weekly Pay)
**Working hours**: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-16:00pm or 9:00am-17:00pm.
