The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of health and clinical needs,
utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software. This
requires generalist and specialist skills as a Clinician to assess and deliver care to
patients across all age groups.
The post holder will provide triage, medication advice, and health information and
implement care packages, to a range of individuals in a range of emotional states,
liaising with other agencies and healthcare providers as necessary.
The post holder will be qualified Paramedic, ECP or Nurse with emergency background
The post holder will be responsible for the supervision, teaching, and precepting and
mentoring of other staff

You will be a registered paramedic who is passionate about patient care and ensuring that patients receive quality clinical assessment and signposting to the most appropriate care pathway.

You will be a reliable, confident, caring and empathetic individual who can work well under pressure as an individual and as a team to be able to deliver high quality care to patients and their families.

As a paramedic you will have an appropriate level of post registration experience in acute, urgent and emergency care environments and be able to demonstrate post registration development.

Telephone triage experience is desirable, with an empathetic telephone manner and the ability to work accurately, at speed and under pressure.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who will help us excel in the service and care given to patients.

a. To provide skilled and effective assessment of patients presenting clinical
need, through telephone consultation, with the support of the clinical
assessment software, throughout which the nurse is always required to be
accountable for using professional judgement.
care process to provide accurate advice and health information to patients in
order to empower and enable them to act upon advice given.
c. Current awareness of policies and utilisation of acquired skills in mental
health, child protection, medication enquiries and all other aspects of general
healthcare.
d. Liaises effectively between caller and third party in critical situations/areas of
concern e.g. child abuse, where information is not consistent or may be
disputed.
e. To keep immediate and accurate records of service user enquiries to the
service during the consultation.
f. To be able to accurately document consultation notes in a timely fashion
within the software programme, to allow for suitable emergency referral and
intervention.
g. Identify and use information sources to support and underpin clinical
decision-making.
h. Recognises opportunities for and provides health education during the
consultation process, referring to appropriate health care professionals as
required.
i. Use critical thinking skills to support call centre staff in decision-making
processes on complex/sensitive scenarios resulting in a safe service user
outcome.
