**Job Purpose**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ILM / Apprenticeship Trainer to join our friendly team at Skern Training & Skills.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a caseload of learners enrolled in the ILM programme or apprenticeship schemes. This involves providing comprehensive support to ensure that learners successfully achieve their qualifications, including the ILM Certificate/Diploma.

Key duties include guiding apprentices through their entire learning journey—from initial enrolment to Gateway and through to a successful End Point Assessment. This involves regular progress monitoring, offering tailored guidance, and ensuring that all learners meet the required standards and milestones within the set timelines.

Additionally, the role demands effective communication and collaboration with both learners and internal teams to create a supportive & positive learning environment. The aim is to foster the development of skills and knowledge that align with industry standards and the specific requirements of each learner's chosen qualification or apprenticeship pathway.

**Some responsibilities include**:

- Train, coach, support and deliver the ILM and/or apprenticeship programmes
- Ability to deliver apprenticeships and commercial courses to include the following**:Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor, Level 5 Operations or Departmental manager, Level 3 Business Administrator, ILM Levels 2, 3, 5**:

- Support apprentices with all aspects of the apprenticeship delivery including additional learner support where applicable working with our ALS specialist.
- Provide information and guidance to the learner and employer about the progress of the apprentice.
- Programming of training and support in liaison with the programme manager and taking account of the employer individual needs.
- On-board new apprentices to the correct programme following the Skern Training and Skills process.
- Support apprentices in their workplace in preparing for their end point assessment, being accountable for the progress and overall achievement of the apprentice.
- To carry out initial assessment with learners using a range of methods.
- To keep and maintain accurate records of training and assessment in accordance with service and awarding body requirements.
- To maintain and update own knowledge, skills and occupational competence as required by the awarding body.
- To have a caseload of approx. 30-35 apprentices across several employers.
- Ensure clear understanding of the standard and the impact on the learner, being the expert and providing insight to the business.
- Invigilate exams as required to support other trainers and to complete the assessment of speaking listening and communication as part of the functional skills provision for your apprentices.

**Typical knowledge, skills and experience required**:
**Essential**
- Extensive knowledge & experience delivering ILM levels 2, 3 and 5.
- Experience of delivering apprenticeships in Leadership & Management
- Recognised Level 5 or above in Leadership and Management or significant sector experience
- Capable & qualified to work across Level 3 -5 in Leadership & Management
- Hold a recognised teacher / training qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent)
- A strong commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and evidence of own ongoing CPD.
- Efficient time management & organizational skills
- GCSEs English and Maths (C or above or functional skills equivalent).
- Competent in the use of ICT to include word, excel and Microsoft teams.
- Current clean, full, UK driving license and own vehicle appropriate for business use. Ability to drive a minibus is desirable although not essential.

**Desirable**
- Experience working with remotely teams using TEAMS/ZOOM with experience of virtual learning and e-portfolios.
- Hold an assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, D32, D33 or equivalent). Or willing to work towards
- Knowledge of End Point Assessment activities and methodologies.
- Knowledge of relevant IFATE Standards.
- To hold a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving this.
- A current First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of the OFSTED Education Inspection Framework.
