To play an integral role in the recruitment of prospective foster carers by undertaking and completing robust, evidence-based Form F Assessments.
- To work in partnership with other professionals to complete the necessary statutory checks and obtain the required information in order to ascertain the suitability of prospective foster carers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Actively recruit and assess prospective foster carers on behalf of the Agency.
- Undertake the assessment of prospective foster carers, using the BAAF Form F assessment model.
- Complete Form F Updates for approved foster carers.
- Prioritise the completion of Form F reports and supporting documentation within the agreed timescale of six weeks from allocation to quality assurance submission.
- Ensure all reports and supporting documents are completed to a good standard.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records on relevant electronic and manual systems.
- Present reports to the fostering panel and the IRM (if required).
- Liaise with the senior practitioner and management regarding the progress of each assessment.
- Participate and actively engage in supervision.
- Participate in an annual appraisal.
- Work as part of the team to assist in developing and improving the existing service.
- Undertake office duty, placement searches and matching, and respond to crises as and when required.
- Hold a light caseload and supervise foster carers, if required.
- Maintain safe working practices for self and others, in accordance with the Agency’s Health and Safety at Work and lone working policies.
- If the need arises, to undertake tasks not specifically covered in the job description, and any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the manager.

**Qualifications**:

- A CCETSW recognised social work qualification; Dip.SW, CQSQ and CSS
- Be registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE).

**Experience**:

- BAAF assessment experience is necessary.
- 2 years' post qualifying experience of social work practice with children and families, preferably within the fostering environment

**Skills**:

- To be able to work independently, complete multiple assessments simultaneously, and manage the requirements of the BAAF Form F assessment.
- To have good assessment and report writing skills consistent with statutory requirements and an ability to work within the Agency’s expectations and procedures.
- The ability to communicate effectively with applicants, their families and other relevant persons involved in the assessment process.
- The ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) and promote good working relationships with the staff team, professionals and prospective foster carers.
- Be willing to work flexibly (including evenings and weekends if required).
