RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our Birmingham based client for a Tenancy Conditions Officer to work part of a team to legal claims and ensure the speedy resolution of cases.

This is a full time, temporary role initially for 3 months and offers a rate of pay of £14.83 per hour.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Support the Service Coordinator in the delivery of the disrepair litigation service, including budget monitoring, performance management and supervision of a small team dealing with disrepair litigation matters.
- Provide a comprehensive review of tenancy & repairs history in respect of disrepair litigation matters.
- Undertaking a forensic review of all computer records, tenancy files and associated records providing legal services with evidence to defend claims, alternatively where necessary identify liability to allow claims to be settled as quickly as possible.
- Provide a tenant liaison officer role to support a wide range of customers where the provision of alternative accommodation or tenancy support is required in order for disrepair matter to be concluded.
- Working closely with internal partner departments such as voids and allocations teams, land and property team, homeless and temporary accommodation teams as well as our repair partners. And most importantly our tenants and their families.
- Liaise directly with contract works officers in order to clarify any technical issues. Also to provide legal services with a direct contact point to address and resolves matters they raise.
- Attendance at court to give lay expert evidence in relation to Client records when required.
- Monitor the performance of both staff and the functions under your control to ensure effective delivery of the service.
- Regularly assess the ongoing requirements of tenants/customers and determine appropriate objectives to meet their needs.
- Carry out negotiations with tenants to identify and secure temporary accommodation or allow tenants to find their own temporary accommodation and use storage to house possessions whilst works are completed.
- Assist in the review, development and introduction of new technology.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Experience of working in the law court arena and the giving of evidence.
- Experience of maintaining and operation of computerised record systems.
- Experience of working with individuals and their representatives (e.g. Legal, Support workers, Social Services) to facilitate the implementation of repairs packages.
- Ability to produce accurately prepared written summaries of complex and lengthy case histories ideally related to property repairs and maintenance.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legislation applicable to disrepair claims.
- Must be able to attend locations across Birmingham when required.
