National Highways currently has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to work within the major Projects, Complex Infrastructure Programme (CIP).

One of the biggest challenges we face as a fast-paced, high-pressured Programme is keeping the projects connected to the organisation and aligned with National Highway's overall objectives. We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager whose focus willbe to manage that relationship between the programme and the projects by co-ordinating across the various internal communication functions and keeping our projects on board with key events, wellbeing, and wider transformation activities.
This role is an integral part of our team and will suit somebody who has experience of supporting change programmes, developing a range of materials to aid communication, and understanding, internal stakeholder management and working in a complex change environment.You will have good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams, PowerPoint and ideally Sway.

This is a busy and varied role that will best suit somebody with a passion for improving relationships and a strong written and verbal communication style. This role will be a mix of home and office working and does require some travel to our various locations,as our project teams are based in different parts of the country.

In this role you will be responsible for:

- Delivering the programme's internal communications plan, ensuring it's fit for purpose and aligns with our projects
- Supporting various change activities
- Preparing internal communications
- Establishing robust processes to communicate information and change across the programme/projects and to capture project/programme successes
- Act as the first point of contact for CIP internal communications
- Support the various wellbeing activities across the Programme by preparing comms and co-ordinating activities
- Organise and deliver the Programme's annual conference as well as taking ownership of organising ad-hoc engagement/social activities

To be successful you’ll need:
1. Excellent communication skills with a strong verbal and written style
2. Strong organisation skills with experience of managing and coordinating events.
3. Strong collaborator, with integrity, to gain the involvement and engagement of a wide range of stakeholders.
4. Experience of developing a range of materials to aid communication, and understanding
5. Project experience and experience of working in a complex change environment
6. High resilience, to deal constructively with conflicting priorities and ability to work at pace.
