Client Rates Management Analyst

My client is one of the world’s largest and oldest law firms with a history stretching back to the 19th century. They are now a leading global law firm with offices in key business centres across the Americas, Asia and Europe. The firm employs approximately2000 lawyers. Their London office has a headcount of circa 800.
They currently have an opening for a Client Rates Management Analyst. The purpose of the role is to provide support and counsel to lawyers and other firm personnel in relation to managing the rate & commercial aspects of individual client and matter agreementsand pricing/fee proposals
**Responsibilities**
- Summarise the financial impact of existing client rate arrangements and develop and recommend revisions as agreements are renewed.
- Manage and maintain pricing agreement information in Mayer Brown’s Global Pricing System.
- Serve as the initial/primary point of contact for assigned clients on rate, pricing and reporting issues and coordinate client facing reporting.
- Review engagement letters for new matters to ensure proper tracking and setup.
- Coordinate and execute the annual standard rate setting process in the U.K.
- Working directly with Firm Partners to develop rate, fee estimates and pricing options in response to client RFP’s and ad-hoc requests.
- Prepare analysis to support proposed fee arrangements, including financial impact and viability of proposed pricing arrangements and facilitate approval of same.
- Post matter financial analysis and provision of associated pricing and business insight to partners, pricing and business development teams.
- Additional related responsibilities as directed by department management.
- Degree in finance, accounting, or business
- CIMA, ACCA or MBA
- Experience of working within a partnership or professional services environment essential, preferably a law firm.
- Experience of fee negotiation is preferable.
- Adept at creating, developing, and maintaining financial models, preferably in a pricing context.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, Power BI. SQL skills are a distinct advantage.
- Project Management skills are essential, able to manage multiple projects at one time and prioritize as necessary.
- Knowledge of a multi-currency financial systems commonly used in the legal industry, preferably Aderant Expert.
- Strong analytical, evaluative and critical thinking skills, able to analyses data and present meaningful and useable insight to partners and Firm management.
- Strong commercial acumen and high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to create strong successful working relationship with clients, partners, and staff. Strong team player with ability to listen to others’ opinions and propose creative workable solutions to problems.
- Able to articulate points of view clearly and succinctly, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Credible in communication with a wide variety of personnel and personalities including partners, business development personnel, finance& accounting team, and Firm management.
