About The Role The Client Transition Analyst (“CTA”) is a member of the Client Transition Services Group (CTS) and supports operational aspects of various client transition events including new mandate fundings, terminations, asset‑in‑kind flows, and product/portfolio changes. The role emphasizes operational risk management and control environment. The CTA works closely with global relationship teams, investment teams, and other operational functional areas to ensure consistent service models in transitioning client assets and mitigating risk during the transition process. A substantial amount of time is devoted to external communication with custodian banks, internal investment teams, third‑party accounting agents, outsourcing providers, vendors, transition managers, and clients. Responsibilities Ensure timely and consistent delivery of account opening documentation for new client accounts, orchestrate custodial and market openings, and coordinate asset in‑kind processing. Execute investor‑driven asset transfers (securities and cash) during benchmark and periodic portfolio rebalances and implement account restructures required by investment teams. Initiate account record set‑up for new accounts and/or portfolios and maintain existing account records; review and approve new account set‑ups and facilitate proper use of internal trade restriction flags for institutional clients. Coordinate fund launches, closures, share‑class launches, and related transition events for Wellington’s fund range. Provide assistance and training to colleagues, act as global expert for account set‑ups, and update process and control checklists. Liaise with Transition Managers and legacy investment managers; coordinate reconciliation of external transition trade execution files for new or existing accounts. Serve as a thought partner to Client Integration Managers, Portfolio Manager/Coordinator, and Trading in developing and implementing client transition strategies. Coordinate with Portfolio Management, Trading, and Investment personnel to facilitate transition events pre‑ and post‑event as well as adjust cash and asset transactions related to portfolio rebalances. Monitor and process daily cash flows and confirm cash flow transactions with custodian banks. Maintain awareness of industry, custodian, and regulatory change; develop understanding of different jurisdictions and client requirements. Liaise with the Cash Flow Team to coordinate client flow activity and support documentation and best practices. Qualifications Broad and proven knowledge of the investment process, custody, fund operations, transfer agency functions, and securities knowledge including derivatives. Excellent organizational, project planning, and execution skills with ability to prioritize and handle multi‑tasks under time constraints. Strong analytical ability, business judgment, and risk awareness, with capacity to synthesize complex issues and balance competing objectives. Preferred exposure to investment or financial services operations in a risk‑management environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills and proven service delivery. Interest or desire to acquire applicable industry qualifications or an advanced degree preferred.
