**Job Description**:
**Supply Chain Development (SCD) Purchasing**

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Purchasing Department to join us as a Buyer supporting New Product Introduction / Development. We are looking for a commercially savvy, enthusiastic, and driven individual to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of new products, to the highest quality and best value. In this role, you’ll take pride operating culture that is curious and kind. You’ll feed on opportunity and excel in an ever-changing and exciting manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, with a positive attitude and outlook, high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Early engagement with design engineers and project managers to gain an understanding of the technical and commercial requirements for new component sourcing.
- Identifying and understanding cost drivers at the early stages of supplier selection, to deliver cost reduction opportunities, whilst negotiating terms and conditions to achieve best price and quality.
- Development of robust, sustainable, and regulatory complaint new supply chains for new products, managing and completing supplier approval processes.
- Development of sourcing strategies, management of risks and risk mitigations in support of new product manufacturing strategies and project status milestones.
- Effective management and control of supplier and stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Responsible for the scoping and implementation of Supplier Contracts.
- Liaise both internally and externally to support resolution of quality related issues and problems.

**Requirements**:

- Experience of managing, driving, and developing supplier and stakeholder relationships within a complex technical manufacturing environment.
- Able to demonstrate a successful track record in negotiation with suppliers to meet organisational targets.
- Able to demonstrate a high standard of ethics and integrity within a challenging environment.
- Able to demonstrate proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
- CIPS qualification or relevant STEM/Business Degree would be advantageous, but not essential.
