Senior Buyer (Manufacturing or Engineering) Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST5 Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (with additional hours as required) Permanent office-based role Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer with experience within Engineering or Manufacturing to join a well established company in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The Role As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a Purchasing Department. This is a key role where you will lead procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure we achieve the best value without compromising on quality or delivery performance. Key Responsibilities Purchase materials and products using both operational and strategic procurement methods. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best commercial terms while maintaining quality and delivery standards. Drive efficiency in procurement processes and contribute to departmental KPIs. Manage supplier relationships, including resourcing initiatives and VA/VE exercises. Monitor and manage costs with strong commercial awareness. Work confidently with MRP systems to meet operational demands. Support offshore procurement where required. What We're Looking For Proven buying experience within manufacturing or engineering (steel fabrication experience desirable). Strong negotiation skills with suppliers at all levels. Commercially aware, with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery. Confident using MRP/ERP systems. Offshore procurement experience is an advantage. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
