To work as a member of Wear Recovery as a Community Coach. The role will assist in developing the implementation and running of a range of group work activities to support individuals, whilst promoting mutual aid and all pathways to recovery.

This post requires flexible working to ensure consistent cover and some out of hours working over a 7 day period.

**Key Duties**:

- Provide coaching, support including peer to peer, information and advice to individuals in relation to addiction and recovery from substance misuse.
- Facilitate clients through the WISC abstinence based 12 step programme of recovery.
- Support the needs of a therapeutic peer led community. Ensure treatment contract compliance.
- Assert a zero tolerance to drug and alcohol use whilst on the programme.
- Transport clients in own appropriately maintained and insured vehicle, drive other identified vehicles on behalf of Recovery Connections when required.
- Ensure appropriate streamlined referral into community based services on completion of the programme where required.
- Improve access to appropriate services for clients with substance misuse issues.
- Work closely with the partner agencies such as Criminal Justice, Social Services, and Mental Health etc.
- Complete assessments for clients referred to the service.
- Provide direct client services by way of group and key work.
- Meet key service objectives in line with policies, procedures and data collection systems.

- Manage admissions and ensure all procedures and protocols are adhered to.
- Deliver a structured therapeutic support programme through 12 Step Workshops, Big Book studies and other workshops in accordance with timetabled activities and the WISC programme.
- Provide one to one interventions as required and within appropriate personal proficiency.
- Update and maintain, where required, client records, care plans, progress and discharge reports, regular reviews of clients and report where applicable to statutory authorities, health workers and/or relevant agencies.
- Meet with the Clinical Support Service, discuss client’s individual medical requirements and maintain a records of client’s medication and their prescription.
- Provide therapeutic recognised interventions for individuals about their addiction and recovery.
- Maintain records of the client attendance and participation in the group programme.
- Communicate as required with relevant third parties and external agencies i.e. Courts, Probation Services, and Funding Bodies etc.Amendments: This description accurately reflects the present position; it may be amended and reviewed. Any change will be made following a period of consultation.
