**JOB TITLE**:Assembly Operative
**REPORTS TO**:Assembly/Paint Supervisor
**LOCATION**: Pocklington/York (Sumo UK, Redgates Melbourne, York, YO42 4RG)

**SALARY**:£29120 (based on experience)

**WHAT DOES SUMO DO?**

Sumo helps farmers lower input costs, improve yields & protect the environment using our range of efficient, British built cultivation and seeding farm machinery. At Sumo HQ we manufacture full machines, from cutting box and plate through to the final assembly process.

**Overview of Role**:
Sumo UK are looking for someone with assembly experience to join our fast-paced, high quality manufacturing facility. Applicants must be dependable, safety conscious and delivering high quality of work. The role will be supporting the assembly process, ensuring continuous supply of high-quality agricultural machines, whilst meeting the production schedule. A successful applicant will be trained to our in-house quality standards and processes, including the use of forklift truck and gantry crane operation.

**Desirable skills and knowledge**:

- Flexible and hardworking to meet company’s needs
- Experience of working with hydraulics, electrics, and general assembly techniques
- Experience of working with plant machinery / mechanical fitting
- Comfortable and competent in using a variety of hand tools and basic power tools to complete the mechanical assembly
- Follow assembly instructions and technical drawings
- Select correct components and kits from stores for each assembly / sub-assembly
- Confident using an overhead gantry crane and slinging loads
- Manual handling and following health & safety guidelines within the workplace
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence (Full training will be provided)
- First aid experience an advantage

In-house training will be available to support any shortfalls in previous experience.

**Working Schedule**:

- 40-hour weeks (Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30, Fri 08:00 - 15:15)
