**Our Submarines Business**

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.

**Quality Leader**
Would you like to play a key role leading the Supplier Quality Assurance Team? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Leader at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Quality Leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Quality activities and ensuring that agreed targets are met through the ability to provide leadership in all aspects of quality related activities. This will allow both customer and business requirements to be met.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a role where you will directly impact quality, through resolving issues and improving supplier quality. This will help you to leave your mark in an industry leading organisation, allowing for development opportunities and career progression.

**Your main responsibilities as a Quality Leader will involve**:

- Understanding and deploying quality process improvement techniques to ensure that continuous improvement is maintained
- Managing and taking responsibility for all quality related activities (QA, QC, Inspection) without daily supervision and have the ability to deputise for the Quality Manager when the need arises
- Understanding and highlighting adverse trends, recommend and initiate corrective actions and ensure effective closure
- Supporting Quality through Local, QCI and Major Quality Failure (MQF) investigations
- Developing, maintaining and managing key relationships in the business both internally and externally
- Leading a multi-disciplined team to ensure that both customer and business requirements are met

**Your skills and qualifications**:
Essential:

- Demonstrable Quality Management Skills (Lean Six Sigma advantageous etc)
- People Management experience
- APQP (PPAP) / FAIR / AS9102/3 & AS9145
- Analytical Skills (trend analysis etc

Desirable:

- Manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering experience

You will have excellent communication and leadership skills. This will help you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including your team and various suppliers, allowing you to demonstrate your technical knowledge in the area and help drive towards targets in place.
