Corporate Advice Planner

**Introduction**:
We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join the team based remotely and in Lancing. This is an exciting project planning role for a motivated, dynamic, forward thinking and flexible individual wanting to take a step into or further their careerin financial services.
The successful applicant will, working alongside an assigned experienced Corporate Advice Executive with oversight provided by a dedicated Corporate Advice Manager, plan Corporate Action tasks before they are in the public domain. The Executive will supportand provide appropriate training to the Planner as necessary.
- *The team is classified as flexible working, with the intention to work in the office 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week. This may vary depending on experience, training requirements and requirements of tasks that you are involved in._
**Features of the role will include**:
- Project planning from start to completion the Corporate Action task in a confidential manner. Events can include IPOs, Rights Issues, Acquisitions and Capital Reorganisations.
- Regular communication/liaison with Issuers, advisors and internal stakeholders to fully understand their expectations and requirements.
- Follow a prescribed ISO/governance process to assist in providing a structured project plan which defines requirements to the Corporate Actions Operational team and any other relevant internal teams.
- Designing and being able to explain the timeline of a Corporate Action, factoring any regulatory, legal and market practice timelines and internal operational processing constraints.
- Subject to technical knowledge and experience, actively lead on certain Corporate Action projects with external and internal stakeholders.
- Developing close and trusted relationships with Issuers, advisors and brokers.
- To review and, where relevant, comment on content included with documentation to support the requirements for each transaction, identifying and highlighting any key missing information, as well as standard commentary to assist Issuers and advisors priorto launch of Corporate Action.
**Daily responsibilities include**:
- Production of Quote Agreements for Placings/Allotments/Buy Back programmes.
- To liaise with internal and external parties to manage the day to day questions and queries raised during a Corporate Action.
- To challenge existing processes and to recommend and implement changes, resulting in improving service quality, process efficiency and reduction in risk.
- Raising invoices in accordance with the Receiving Agent Agreement settlement terms for each task, thus ensuring income target is met.
- Ability to spot variations and other non-standard elements of a task and either find a precedent to be able to work to or escalate.
**The experience, skills and attributes you will possess include**:
- Has a logical mind and understands project planning.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management skills, being able to be flexible for unexpected requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
- Solid interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn - about the industry, process, programs and procedures for each type of Corporate Action.
- Responsible - as well as being able to work as part of a team, also be self-motivated, proactive and the ability to take ownership for assigned tasks.
- A level of Procedural/Product/Specialist knowledge of Corporate Actions is preferred but not essential. Potential and keenness to learn and develop is, as always, the key skill.
- Be proactive with new ideas to minimise risk and help with keeping the high standard of service being provided.
