**This is the job** As a Development Lead, you will lead the development and implementation of medium to complex cross-functional projects within a variety of business functions i.e. Roadside, Insurance, Data, Digital etc. with responsibility for the technical delivery acrossthe systems development life. From technical design, development, testing and maintenance activities, you will also create & manage delivery plans and required development resources to ensure business requirements are completely satisfied, on time and withinbudget.

Our Development Lead will also be a specialist with providing technical guidance, completing code reviews and overall drive for continual process improvement whilst acting as a mentor to junior team members.

**What will I be doing?**:

- Work closely with various stakeholders and third parties to understand the business requirements and drive the development of high-quality technical solutions
- Contribute to solution design, identifying innovative solutions to business requirements, driving standardisation and re-usability
- Provide development estimates for assigned changes/projects. This will include challenging estimates provided by external development partners
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and external partners to ensure low level design and build are fully aligned to business requirements
- Responsible for quality assurance and delivery, including unit and system testing; liaising with test teams to ensure SIT/BRT/performance/integration testing is effective and supported whilst adhering to best practices and standards

**What do I need?** Essential:

- Current experience and knowledge of Tibco Business Works 6.x
- Strong knowledge of SOA and development design principles
- Working experience within a similar role/environment responsible for IT development and integration delivery on multiple projects including providing technical solutions
- Strong ability to lead and influence all parties including senior stakeholders
- An in depth understanding of the full Software Delivery Lifecycle
- Technical project management skills in agile and/or Waterfall
- A diligent, data-driven mindset committed to continual assessment and improvement

Desirable:

- Other software experience i.e., Radar Live integration, Java, Oracle, SQL Database, Unix, Jenkins
- Previous working experience within Insurance, Pricing or Customer Data Management
- Leading/managing vendor or offshore teams would be advantageous
