Job Summary:

Imperial is one of the UK's leading providers of parking, environmental, and traffic management systems. Our solutions help local authorities and organisations manage parking, enforce environmental regulations, and build smarter, greener cities.

Parking Management – Reducing cost and complexity, while ensuring fairer, more transparent processes for motorists.

Environmental Enforcement – Streamlining the issue and processing of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) through to payment, prosecution, or recovery.

Smart Cities – Delivering integrated solutions such as Clean Air Zone management, real-time parking availability, emissions-based permits, and enforcement scanning.

We're now looking for a Senior Developer to join our Development Team, working on our flagship permit management platform.

As a Senior Developer, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our online permit management and compliance products.

We deliver monthly production releases with zero downtime using modern CI/CD pipelines. With our greenfield projects, you'll have the opportunity to shape solutions, introduce new practices, and drive innovation.

Job Description:

In this role, you will:
  • Drive the technical direction of our new greenfield permit management platform in Microsoft Azure.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new mobile apps, including solutions to enable virtual voucher purchases.
  • Work in a SCRUM Agile environment, delivering responsive solutions that adapt quickly to evolving customer needs.
  • Deliver clean, scalable, and well-tested code that supports continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate across the organisation — from Support Teams to Technical Consultants — ensuring smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver robust solutions using C# and .NET.
  • Collaborate with peers to produce effective software design and architecture.
  • Write automated tests to ensure quality and prevent regressions.
  • Refactor and modernise existing systems where required.
  • Maintain clear documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal support and implementation teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a .NET Developer.
  • Strong knowledge of C#, HTML, CSS, and design patterns (e.g. MVC).
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and collaborative delivery.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud deployments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with modern deployment tools (e.g. Azure DevOps).
  • Knowledge of Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience developing and deploying mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • Integrating mobile apps with backend services and APIs.
  • Familiarity with authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
  • Awareness of secure coding practices.
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of an organisation shaping smarter, cleaner, and more connected cities.
  • Lead high-impact projects, including cloud migration and mobile-first innovations.
  • Gain hands-on experience with modern cloud and DevOps practices.
  • Work in a collaborative Agile team with the freedom to innovate.
  • Enjoy real variety — from coding and architecture to system design and cross-functional collaboration.
In return we will offer you
  • Competitive salary
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays
  • Pension – matched to 5%
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance scheme with virtual GP service
  • Perkbox – discount scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme

If you're passionate about building impactful solutions with modern technologies and want to take a leading role in a business that serves millions, we'd love to hear from you.
