Every day is different, yet highly rewarding, when you work at Callaway Care, providing skill based learning & support to autistic adults, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental health, and complex behavioural requirements, that may challenge you / others.

In this role you'll plan and deliver exciting and engaging activities that will help individuals become more independent, develop new life skills, and form lasting friendships in this position. It will be your responsibility to provide a variety of fun activities in a safe, stimulating, and person-centred setting. You will be required to support individuals to achieve skills and increase people’s independence through our ‘pathways’ to greater independence books. You will work closely with the person and their family to review their goals on a regular basis.

**Duties**
It is the nature of the work that task responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises in order that tasks which are not specifically covered in their job description are covered.

You must recognise the value of including individuals who use our services in activity planning, and you must be able to demonstrate how the activity programme aligns with individual care plans and best practices, such as choice, independence, and outcomes.

**Job Requirements**

**Essential**

1. Proven experience and a passion for supporting people with learning disabilities and / or autistic adults to live life to the full

2. Experience of working in services for adults with learning disabilities and other complex needs

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

4. Previous experience of organising skill based activities and have the ability to work flexibly across different ability groups

5. Understanding of person-centred approaches and embed this is everyday working

6. Willingness to acquire and maintain relevant qualifications and skills for the role including a professional qualification in activity provision (e.g., QCF Level 3 Certificate in Activity Provision in Social Care)

7. Ability to work flexibly including occasional weekends

8. Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills

9. Satisfactory DBS check

**Desirable**

1. Experience of working in a school, day care or residential setting

2. Basic understanding of peoples health conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes.

3. Knowledge of the 5 CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE’s)

4. Understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity and deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLs)

5. Ability to be flexible, creative and adaptable

6. Clear verbal and written communication

7. Experience with using Microsoft 365

In addition to our care skills academy training, we can offer specialist face to face training on site.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.05 per hour
