**About Three Counties**

The Three Counties Showground in Malvern is home to the Three Counties Agricultural Society. The Society is a charity whose main objectives are to promote agriculture, horticulture, arboriculture, apiculture and allied and rural industries within Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and beyond through creating and hosting major shows including RHS Malvern Spring Festival (a partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society), Royal Three Counties Show, Malvern Autumn Show, Three Counties Championship Dog Show and CountryTastic. HRH The Princess Royal is patron of Three Counties Agricultural Society and our events attract a footfall of 250,000 per year.

The Three Counties Showground is a thriving 90 acre showground which not only hosts Three Counties’ own events, but is also hired out to third parties for exhibitions, conferences, animal shows, trade fairs and leisure events such as flea fairs, auctions and concerts. The iconic Malvern Hills offer a unique backdrop to the showground, making us one of the most attractive showgrounds in the country. Over a million visitors a year come through the gates of the showground and it makes an annual contribution of £35 million a year to the local economy.

**Purpose of the job**

The Shows Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of major shows as well as create, maintain and monitor operational plans and delivery schedules for shows.

Opportunities exist within this role to extend into estate management in the future.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. To create, maintain and monitor an operational plan and delivery schedule for each show.

2. To co-ordinate the build-up and break down of each show in conjunction with venue hire.

3. To manage the installation and removal of all associated show infrastructure.

4. To control operational costs associated with show build, delivery and break down.

5. To use AutoCAD to design show and structure layouts.

6. To oversee onsite operations during live shows.

7. To work closely with the Head of Shows, Head of Operations, Venue Hire Team and Estates Team when making operational decisions.

8. To keep departments on task day to day and ensure all decisions made regarding show production are carried out safely and to the highest standard.

9. To provide regular progress update reports to the Head of Shows.

10. To attend meetings and present operational show updates when required.

11. To lead a health and safety culture by working closely with Head of Operations on health and safety matters, ensuring shows are fully compliant with all current legislation.

12. To maintain positive and healthy relationships with contractors and suppliers.

13. To lead on the contractor tender and contract renewal process.

14. To carry out a post-show operational evaluation, identifying areas for improvement.

15. To develop and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

16. To promote and protect the Society’s external profile and image at all times.

17. Any other commensurate duties.

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
