**Full Job Description-Credit Controller**

Reporting to the Group Credit Control Manager; an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Credit Control Team in our Exeter Sweet Factory.

**Professional Qualifications and Skill Requirements**
- Full understanding of the credit control function, including standard practices of debt recovery.
- Good understanding of Excel (VLOOKUP & Pivot tables) Word and Outlook.
- Excellent administration skills with an organised and structured approach.
- Good all round communication skills on all levels internal and external to the organisations.
- Good telephone manner to promote confidence and professionalism but with authority to achieve results, being assertive without being aggressive.
- Ability to work pro-actively in a defined team, utilising resources from across all departments of the company.
- Exemplary high standards of customer service, honesty and integrity.
- Ability to use own initiative in identifying, addressing and resolving day to day issues and challenges.
- Strong, positive attitude and work ethic including ability to be a valued ‘team player’ and stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of the legal system recovery system would be an advantage.

**Role / Responsibilities**
- Controlling of debt across a wide spectrum of accounts of varying sizes and customer types for our group of companies.
- Maintaining of full audit trail of debt chase activity to include all correspondence both verbal and written and to record all relevant information to the account.
- Controlling all queries raised against accounts under your control in a timely manner, fully recorded and documented, to make sure customer service resolve efficiently to prevent payment delays.
- Establish & maintain a good communication channel and working relationship with the customer and your colleagues.
- Report to management on a monthly basis the account status and circumstances for overdue invoices including action taken to resolve/recover payment.
- To resolve any contentious issues with the customer to avoid escalation up the chain.
- To prevent any debt becoming overdue.
- To ensure a professional approach is taken in carrying out the role in an accurate and timely manner.
- Allocating customer payments via BACS, Card and PayPal on to the ledger as and when required too.
- Opening new customer accounts by following the new account process as and when required.
- Ad hoc duties to cover team as and when required.

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00

**Salary**: To be agreed dependant on experience
