Job Summary
Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust as a support worker and discover a genuinely rewarding role with plenty of training, support, a competitive salary, benefits and opportunities to develop your career. You’ll support people with a learning disability, autism or both to live life in the way they choose. You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.
As a ‘waking nights support worker’ you’ll have a guaranteed number of hours work each week, with the occasional daytime working, for example to attend training courses and meetings. Rota\'s are planned 6 weeks in advance.
About the role
You’ll provide responsive and high quality, person-centred care and support at night to people moving into their new home. This may include physical, sensory and emotional support to promote an individual’s well-being and safety. As part of an individual’s care and support plan, or as needs arise, you’ll provide support which may include personal care, monitoring and managing specific health care needs. Timely, accurate recordkeeping and any household duties required on shift.

If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.
About you
You’re considerate, committed, resilient and respect people’s differences. Empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals’ needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. You come up with creative solutions to overcome challenges and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work shifts across the week, including weekends.

All support workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £60 extra per sleep-in.
Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.
