Support Worker required to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an enduring mental illness in his home in Bodmin.

Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an enduring mental illness. This gentleman experiences hallucinations and delusional thoughts.

With the support of a Nurse on-call 24/7 your role will be to help ensure he feels safe and secure during the night while also encouraging him to rebuild his confidence in engaging with the activities he loves.

He finds great comfort in music, river fishing and sharing stories. He loves spending time with his daughters and enjoys going to live music events - something he hopes to regain confidence in doing again.

Shift Details:

  • 20:00–08:00 (7 days a week)

Note: Ideally, you'll be able to commit to 3-4 shifts per week to provide consistency of care, but we're happy to discuss your availability. Please get in touch to discuss further.

Pay Rates:

  • £15.30 p/hr Mon–Thurs
  • £15.55 p/hr Fri
  • £17.55 p/hr Sat & Sun
  • £20.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities

You'll provide 2:1 waking night support, ensuring that he:

  • Feels safe and comfortable at home throughout the night
  • Is supported in maintaining a consistent night-time routine
  • Has the encouragement and assistance he needs to attend live music events when ready

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working night shifts
  • Mental Health experience

The ideal candidate would be calm and confident. You'll be an experienced support worker with mental health experience. Full training will be provided.

What You'll Need

  • Good References (covering at least 3 years)
  • You must be a car driver
  • Reliability and good communication
  • Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
