If so, we may have your next step in your career in tech client is an international insurance company looking to recruit a Head of IT to be based at their Newcastle head office.

You will be responsible for the following:

- Assume full accountability for the UK IT operations and development in line with the companies IT strategies and frameworks.
- Ensuring that business needs are met through the identification and using of effective IT services and solutions, mainly by using services provided by Group IT.
- Develop and maintain the IT service portfolio roadmap for the UK, in alignment with Group IT roadmaps, work with Head of IT Europe and other IT Leadership colleagues to develop and implement future technology strategies.
- As part of the UK Executive team, collaborate with colleagues to create a team, plan and infrastructure that meets future business needs and its regulatory obligations.
- Engage with stakeholders with the objective to optimise and improve services, business growth and participate in major initiative solution design and planning.
- Lead, coach and develop an engaged and high performing IT team in the UK.
- Collaborate with the European IT Leadership team to assist with service demand/performance planning and develop and improve Service Level Agreements based on business need.
- Assist broader group stakeholders in achieving compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal customers, external customers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and assistance to the business to define and plan IT enabled transformation and process improvement opportunities, establishing efficiency and efficacy standards and providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
- Contribute to effective management of day-to-day team activities to achieve customer and business objectives.
- Experience within a matrix organisation and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience within financial services and ideally insurance services.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing information technology projects of small, medium, and large size.
- 10+ years of experience working as an interface function between business and internal and external IT service providers.
- Excellent skills, knowledge and experience in tactical IT planning, development and operational execution closely linked to business’ needs.
- Excellent skills, knowledge, and experience in IT project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum etc.).
