**About the role** MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB**

**Safeguarding**
**Practice**
- Carry out research of latest safeguarding approaches within the international development sector and ensure Crown Agents’ approach considers latest thinking and trends
- Provide guidance on any updates or changes to Crown Agents’ safeguarding approach and related processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures across the business and on our programmes
- Work with the HR team, local offices and other colleagues to implement regular reviews of safeguarding practices, as applicable.
- Implement and monitor safeguarding investigations using and maintaining the HR Management Information System.
- Maintain employee and HR paper based and electronic records in line with data protection guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with internal safeguarding approach, including ensuring any internal processes and systems are appropriate and conducting regular audits of safeguarding reports to ensure robust reporting and investigative mechanisms.
- Record and monitor all safeguarding reports.
- Manage safeguarding processes for staff, consultants and other stakeholders, including beneficiaries.
- Contribute to, and support, the delivery of the Corporate and CAID safeguarding strategies and Annual Operating Plan.
- Promote the use of safeguarding systems policies and processes in the international offices/which business areas, challenging appropriately as necessary.
- Advise managers on the process for engaging with their stakeholders when discussing safeguarding approaches and undertaking investigations
- Represent Crown Agents externally in relation to Safeguarding as appropriate
- Liaise with safeguarding professionals and bodies to increase knowledge, awareness, and best practice in Safeguarding issues.

**Employee Relations**
- Build a strong relationship with internal clients.
- Provide management with guidance on safeguarding, ensuring that any procedures, documentation and practices are up to date and in line with CA group HR policies, procedures and best practice.
- Act as the first line of contact in Human Resources for all safeguarding related issues.
- Ensure a network of Safeguarding Focal Points are established and well supported in our international offices and programmes.

Deliver safeguarding training to the business on regular intervals, ensuring all staff and contractors are trained, and fully aware of their responsibilities in enabling a safeguarding culture, incident prevention and reporting.

**Performance Management**
- Have regular meetings with safeguarding focal points to ensure effective communication of all issues and updates to safeguarding practices.
- Advise and coach managers and focal points in safeguarding ‘best practice’.
- Advise managers and focal points in the use of the safeguarding process to facilitate a safe working environment, and how to effectively address any safeguarding issues that arise.
- Track and update all safeguarding focal points for CAHQ, international offices and projects

**Special Projects**
- Undertake any assigned special projects involving investigating current policies and procedures and developing and implementing new safeguarding practices as requested.

This role may require international travel from time to time

**About you** Qualification**

Qualified CIPD membership to Chartered status, or equivalent
Safeguarding training and accreditation

**Experience**

Extensive experience of safeguarding in an international development context
