Role Purpose

The Public Markets Development team within Group Technology is seeking a highly talented, data aware, technical lead. The development team is responsible for Investment Data Delivery across a number of services, platforms and interfaces. Provisioning solutions which support strategic business goals. This is a great opportunity to be part of an Investment focused solutions delivery team which is aligned to the strategic objectives of abrdn and its information provisioning needs.

As a Technical Lead you will be responsible for developing solutions across a variety of platforms and technology using agile frameworks. You’ll use your strong interpersonal skills to work in a team matrix consisting of multiple disciplines across the technology delivery landscape as well as project stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

Essential:
- Data literate with SQL Server skills- Experience of translating requirements into build activities, shaping solutions with key stakeholders and colleagues- Proven track record in delivering technical solutions, collaborating with other tech leads to ensure integrated end-to-end design- Experience of working with data, data warehouses, reporting technologies and API development- Worked alongside other professional business analysts, project managers, technologists, developers and other change management experts on major information provisioning initiatives- Demonstrable experience in delivering solutions within a complex data rich environment- Ability to plan, schedule and monitor own work activities in order to meet time/quality targets- Able to document technical approach and design- Evidence of ensuring best practice and leading by example- Ability to learn new technologies in order to support systems delivery

Desirable:
- Experience of the financial industry sector- Practical experience of agile methodologies and tools- An analytical and systematic approach to problem solving- Experience delivering solutions utilising 3rd party cloud services (eg. Azure, Snowflake)- Awareness/capability of Azure - Data lake, Databricks and MS Power BI- Snowflake build and integration
