**Summary**:

- We are looking to recruit up to 20 Higher Scientific (Operational Research) and Higher Statistical Officer analysts to fill key posts across a range of policy and business areas.**Job description**:

There is a growing, consistent demand for Operational Researchers and Statisticians across DWP and our roles offer a real **variety** across different business areas, including policy, operations, statistics, modelling and forecasting, underpinned by an unprecedented wealth of data. We are particularly proud that as an Analytical Community, we have a **large number of different roles on offer**, allowing analysts to build and enhance diverse CVs within a single Department.

The roles available will be based in one of our hubs in the following locations: Leeds, London Westminster, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield, Birmingham, Glasgow and Treforest. Please note that Birmingham, Glasgow and Treforest are new analytical hubs and we are growing the DWP analyst presence in these locations.

If you meet the eligibility requirements you should then provide evidence against the Essential Criteria listed below. For individuals based in the Treforest Hub, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

**What we are looking for: Essential Criteria**

**_We are looking for applicants who are able to demonstrate experience against the following _**_essential criteria_**_ _**_required for the role of Higher Scientific Officer or Higher Statistical _**_Officer:_**
- Experience of communicating analysis clearly, choosing appropriate styles to ensure understanding and maximise impact, and providing accurate, expert and professional advice to support effective decisions
- _operational research or statistical techniques in line with the profession that you are currently a _member of or want to align to._

**Qualifications**:

- A current, permanent, badged member of one of the following two Government analytical professions: Government Operational Research Service or Government Statistical Group.

**The Interview**:
The final panel interview will be a blended interview, covering Behaviour and Technical questions and will take app
