**We are currently seeking Residential Support Workers to join our services based in Corby, Northamptonshire.**

**The Company**

T&J Victorious Ltd, provides personalized provisions for young people between 12 and 17 years, with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. We will achieve this by working with the young person alongside local authorities across the country. Our focus is on empowering young people to develop their social, emotional, independence and functional skills which will enable them to feel safe and acquire coping mechanisms for the future. T&J Victorious Ltd strives to provide an environment conducive for progressive growth and development into happy young adults.

**REPORTING To: Team Leader/ Registered Manager**

**Essential**

Previous experience of working with children and young people.

Caring, compassionate and working with others to achieve outcomes for young people.

Good understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Child Protection legislation.

Understanding of child abuse/child protection issues.

Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with children and young people, families, colleagues and external agencies.

Able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

High level of professional integrity and honesty

**Desirable**

NVQ Level 3 or above qualification in Social Care/Social Work or equivalent or willingness to work towards it.

Relevant recent training in childcare related topics

Understanding of the work of other agencies involved with the care of children and young people.

Understanding of child Development

Able to provide basic support for physical and emotional well-being of young people.

Ability to work as a member of a team and ability to work under minimum supervision.

Willingness to undertake further training as required.

Full, clean driving license

**Duties**

Preparing young people for independence, teaching them everyday skills like shopping, budgeting, personal hygiene, preparing meals, laundry, etc.

Working shifts which include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Supporting individuals to manage all aspects of their home environment and ensure it is reflective of their personal tastes and preferences.

Providing mental and emotional support.

To assume responsibility for the day to day management of the service on occasions in the absence of a senior staff member.

Contribute towards the maintenance of standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the home, maintaining a nurturing environment and providing high quality care in a clean and safe environment.

To attend planning meetings and reviews as necessary.

Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care.

To supervise and be involved in social and recreational activities of young people both inside and outside the Residential home.
