Activities Coordinator

**Job Overview**
**Duties**:
- Develop, organise, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
- Coordinate with care staff to ensure that activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of ability and cognitive function.
- Facilitate group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and outings, ensuring participation from all residents.
- Assess the interests and needs of residents to tailor activities that foster engagement and social interaction.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve the activities programme.
- Collaborate with families to encourage their involvement in activities and keep them informed about upcoming events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all activities.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in senior care or a related field is essential, with a focus on dementia care being highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff members.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding towards residents' needs.
- Creative thinking skills to develop innovative activity ideas that cater to diverse interests.
- A relevant qualification in social work, recreation therapy, or a similar discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident feedback and changing circumstances within the care home environment.
Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
